Man taken to hospital with leg injury after Ipswich assault

A teenager's been arrested in connection with the attack.

A 17 year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause GBH, common assault and possession of cannabis.

He was arrested late on Saturday evening (20th March) in connection with an assault on Sirdar Road at 12.35pm on Friday 19th March.

Police were called by the ambulance service following reports a man had been attacked.

The victim, in his 20's, was taken to hospital with a minor leg injury - he was later discharged.

The 17 year-old was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and released on bail on Sunday 21st March.

He's due to return to police on Saturday 17th April.

Police say extra patrols were carried out in the area over the weekend to provide reassurance to the local community.
