Murder investigation continues following Sutton stabbing

Investigations are continuing, following the murder of a man in Sutton.

Police were called at just before 9pm on Sunday 8 October, to reports of a stabbing outside a property in Ipswich Avenue.

Ambulance crews, including an air ambulance, were also in attendance, but despite the best efforts of police and medical personnel, the victim – a 37-year-old man – died at the scene.

A 42-year-old man from Ipswich was detained at the scene and subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder.

He remains in questioning.

Detectives are treating this as an isolated incident and the victim and suspect are understood to have been known to each other.

Police are looking like to hear from any witnesses to the incident, including anyone driving along Ipswich Avenue either prior to, or just after 9pm on the day, who has a dashcam fitted in their vehicle and may have footage that could be of assistance.
