Suffolk man jailed after sexual assault on train in Essex
Creed assaulted a woman while travelling between Manningtree and Colchester
A Suffolk man has been jailed for two years and two months after sexually assualting two women on trains in the county and in Essex.
21 year old Samuel Creed, of Park Road in Stowmarket, was sentenced to 26 months at Ipswich Crown Court on 19 January after carrying out an assault on a woman, despite already being subject to a ban on boarding a train.
He was given the Criminal Behaviour Order after he was found guilty of another sexual assault at Stowmarket station in February 2020.
On May 8 2021 Creed began touching a woman's shoes and feet while on a train between Manningtree and Colchester North.
He was later arrested by the British Transport Police.
Detective Sergeant Hayley Whyte, of British Transport Police, said: “Breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order and continuing to prey on women on the railway network evidently proves Creed’s intent and danger to society, which is why I’m pleased to see him behind bars.
“No one should be made to feel scared or uncomfortable whilst travelling, and we are committed to making sure women in particular feel safer on the network.
“We absolutely will not tolerate any form of sexual harassment. If you experience or witness anything, we urge you to report it to us by texting 61016. We will always take you seriously.”
