White and blue lights shone from Suffolk County Council’s main building last night in support of Israel.

The lights filled the glass windows of the SCC’s headquarters, Endeavour House.

SCC leader, Matthew Hicks, said: “Saturday’s terrorist attack against Israel was an abhorrent act of evil.

“I echo the words of the Prime Minister, there are not two sides to terrorism, We stand with Israel.”

This comes as the war in Israel continues to escalate after a Palestinian militant group, Hamas, launched an attack in the Gaza Strip.

The attack has already resulted in hundreds of deaths and thousands more injured.

The council’s decision mirrored the countless support messages shared on social media as well as the projection of the Israeli flag’s colours on some of the UK’s key buildings such as Parliament.
