Burger chain Five Guys is planning to open its first restaurant in Suffolk.

Plans would see the former Pancake and Waffle Shack near the Fiveways roundabout at Barton Mills converted into the new diner.

The previous restaurant, which sits next to a petrol station off the M11, closed over the summer.

Documents on the West Suffolk Council website show designs for the proposed new branch of the chain, as well as the planned signage and the details of new equipment to be installed in the building.

The plans are yet to be approved.

Five Guys is best known for its burgers, milkshakes and fries. It already has several branches open across the East of England, including in Colchester and Norwich.
