Suffolk Police launch fresh appeal after body found in River Deben
Officers believe they now know the man's identity, after he was recovered yesterday
Suffolk Police have renewed their appeal for information after the body of a man was discovered in the River Deben at Waldringfield yesterday (17th August).
Officers say they believe they know the identity of the deceased but are seeking help from the public to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident. The man's body was recovered and brought ashore at approximately 8.45am on Sunday.
The victim is described as a white male, around 35 years of age, with fair hair and a ginger beard. Police are asking for anyone who saw a man fitting this description, riding a black Cube bicycle and wearing a khaki shirt and baseball cap, on Saturday 16th August or in the early hours of Sunday 17th August, to come forward.
A potential sighting was reported at 3.45pm on Saturday near the Seven Hills roundabout at Levington, which officers are keen to investigate further.
Suffolk Police are also searching for the man’s bicycle and clothes, believing these items may still be in the Waldringfield area. They urge anyone with information that could assist in their enquiries to contact them as soon as possible.
