Two people have been arrested, in connection with a serious sexual assault in Stowmarket last month.

The incident occurred on Wednesday 19th November between 5:45 am and 6 am. A woman in her 30s was running along a pathway off Iliffe Way when an unknown man approached her, pulled her to the ground, and sexually assaulted her.

Today, Wednesday 3rd December, a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and attempted rape, while a 49-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both individuals are being questioned at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre, where they remain in custody.

Previously, on Sunday 23rd November, a 38-year-old man was arrested in connection with the case and questioned at the same police centre. He was released without charge on Tuesday 25th November and will face no further police action.

The victim continues to receive support from specialist officers and is aiding the investigation, which has included the creation of an EvoFIT likeness of the suspect.

Detectives have expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance with inquiries.
