Employees at a bank in Stowmarket have raised over £1,100 for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH).

The team at TSB pledged to cover the distance from Stowmarket to Rome via land (1,159 miles) but exceeded the total by almost 800 miles, thanks to the boost it was giving their physical and mental health.

In total the employees raised £1,122.97 for EACH.

They are one of seven branches in Suffolk and East Essex which started a two-year period of support for the charity in November 2020.

Rachel Dally, EACH Suffolk Corporate Fundraising Assistant, said:

"A big welcome to TSB, who are supporting EACH at seven of their branches across Suffolk and East Essex for the next two years. Staff were fundraising over Christmas and the company very kindly gifted EACH £500 over the festive period, too.

"It has been great to see the Stowmarket branch taking up this impressive challenge since then and I’m so pleased it’s had a positive impact on staff morale, too, in what we obviously know are such difficult times for all. We look forward to more collaboration with TSB in the months to come!"

Carly Brady, TSB Stowmarket Bank Manager, added:

"We wanted to find a way to support EACH within the restrictions of lockdown as well as help improve our wellbeing along the way. We came up with this challenge to get the whole team involved. We had fun as we made our virtual journey and plotted all the destinations we arrived at. A massive thanks to everyone who’s supported us."
