In what's being called a 'significant milestone' for the project, bosses at Sizewell C have secured the lease of one million square feet of space just outside of Ipswich.

The site is part of Orwell Logistics Park on the A14.

It will be used to store key equipment and ensure a controlled pattern of deliveries to the nuclear power plant's construction site near Leiston.

It's hoped this will help reduce traffic in the area during busy hours.

"Another big step forward"

Nigel Cann, Sizewell C Joint Managing Director, said: “After starting formal construction this year, this is yet another big step forward for Sizewell C.

"Orwell Logistics Park is an excellent solution for our logistics and freight management – and it will be a crucial location for us as we begin the gradual ramp-up to peak construction over the next five years, whilst showing due consideration to our host communities.”
