Seven arrested during Ipswich roads operation

The operation in Ipswich also formed part of the ongoing Clear Hold Build Operation

An operation targeting fraudulent driving licences and documents being used on the road network led to 73 vehicles being stopped and seven people being arrested, with 17 vehicles seized.

Clear, Hold, Build is a tactic developed by the Home Office to tackle serious and organised crime and build communities more resilient to their influence.

Arrests included:

  • False driving license, false number plates, no insurance, disqualified driver & obstructing an officer.
  • Drug driving
  • No license & immigration offences
  • Drug driving
  • Immigration offences, no license or insurance
  • Drug driving. Vehicle in poor condition, no insurance & illegal number plate. Passenger wanted on prison recall.

Speaking about the operation, PC Josh Preston of the Roads and Armed Policing team, who is leading Operation Foxtail said: “This type of enforcement is proving to be highly effective, consistently delivering strong results not only in disrupting organised criminal networks but also in enhancing road safety across the region."
