Suffolk Fire is urging people to be careful with dry conditions set to stay this summer.

It comes after firefighters were called to tackle a serious blaze at Rushmere Golf Club in Ipswich on Tuesday evening.

The service says six crews attended after receiving over 150 calls from concerned residents.

The fire was brought under control in a number of hours and crews remained on the scene to damp down.

The message is though with more hot weather on the way to avoid open flames in public, with things like BBQs and cigarettes possible starters for large fires.

A four-day amber warning for extreme heat kicks in tomorrow with the Met Office saying we should expect temperatures into the mid-30s.

During the heatwave last month we saw fire services in Norfolk and Suffolk declare Major Incidents due to the number of calls they were receiving.
