Primark is set to open in Bury St Edmunds this Wednesday (6th March).

It's taking over a unit of arc Shopping Centre, which has been empty since May 2021, when Debenhams closed.

It's thought the 33,000 sq ft store will create around 90 jobs for the town.

When the new store was announced, Philippa Nibbs, Primark UK Director of Sales for London and the South East, said: “We know people in Bury St Edmunds have been calling for a local Primark for a while now, so we’re delighted to finally be able to confirm our plans for the town.

"We’re really looking forward to becoming a part of this great community and bringing new and existing customers the Primark products they love.”

Allan Hassell, arc Centre Manager, said “The addition of Primark is a marvellous opportunity for Bury St Edmunds and one I’m sure our shoppers will be thrilled to receive.”
