The Post Office has apologised after it was announced its branch in Sudbury will be closing down tomorrow at short notice.

The company says the branch at the Borehamgate Shopping Centre is shutting down as the current postmaster has decided to stop working with the Post Office.

In a statement a spokesperson said: “Unfortunately, the Postmaster for Sudbury has decided to withdraw from offering post office services in Sudbury from this Friday (25/8).

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by this closure at short notice. We are currently reviewing service provision for Sudbury and will share a further update as soon as we can."

The closure leaves the nearest alternative Post Offices at Great Cornard and Great Waldingfield.
