Port of Ipswich marks record-breaking start to the year
As of the end of May the Ipswich port had handled over 1 million tonnes of cargo
The Port of Ipswich is marking a record breaking start to the year, with record amounts of cargo moving through the facility in the first five months of 2023.
In total the port has handled over 1 million tonnes of exports and imports, including contruction equipment and agricultural materials.
The facility is currently the UK's number one for grain exports. It has been run by ABP (Associated British Ports) for 25 years - the firm also runs the East Anglian ports of King's Lynn and Lowestoft.

“This milestone further cements Ipswich as a place of strategic national importance in relation to exports and imports, and the role the port plays in Keeping Britain Trading.
