More than 30,000 assaults on police officers in the last year
The figures include over 10,000 assaults that resulted in an injury
There were over 30,000 assaults on police officers in England and Wales in 2019/20.
The figures, released by the Office for National Statistics, show of the 30,679 attacks, 10,410 of them resulted in a police constable being injured.
That's an increase of 2.3% on the previous year.
In Suffolk there have been 452 assaults on officers over the last year, 91 of those resulting in an injury.
The national figures include British Transport Police but exclude Greater Manchester Police.
