Man bailed in connection with sexual assault in Ipswich

Police investigating a serious sexual assault in Ipswich have bailed a man who was arrested.

The incident happened in the Norwich Road area between 5:05pm and 5:20pm on Thursday 24th November.

The victim was walking from Bramford Lane towards Brooks Hall Road when she was approached by a man she didn't know who attacked her, before threatening her and leaving in the direction of Norwich Road.

Police arrested a 37-year-old man at 7.45pm on 25th November in connection with the incident on suspicion of sexual assault.

He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

The man was released on police bail to answer on Saturday 18th February 2023, pending further enquiries.

The girl is being supported by specialist officers.

Anyone who captured dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage in the area at the time is being urged to contact police.
