Ten people have been arrested after a series of drugs raids in Ipswich, Hadleigh and Felixstowe.

Last Friday's day of action led to the discovery of a cannabis factory which was raided, and the seizing of drugs including cocaine, heroin and cannabis, as well as cash and mobile phones.

Those detained on the day were arrested for offences including being concerned in the supply of controlled substances and possession with intent to supply (PWITS) Class A and B drugs, as well as for assault.

Four people were arrested for failing to appear at court, while officers also arrested another person during the operation who was wanted for outstanding offences of assault and possession with intent to supply.

Superintendent Andy Martin said: “This was a rapid operation, acting upon the most recent police and community-led intelligence.

“This shows the value of the intelligence we receive from our communities and the partners we work with, and we will always act upon this whenever we can.

“The aim was to disrupt serious criminal activity in Ipswich and the surrounding area, particularly drug-related crime and violence.”
