Man seriously injured after assault in Lowestoft
Police are appealing for witnesses of the assault on Lowestoft High Street last night (26 December)

A man has sustained serious head injuries following an assault in Lowestoft last night (26 December).
The incident took place just before 11:10 pm yesterday, on the High Street in Lowestoft, near to the Carousel pub.
It' reported that a man in his 20’s was seriously assaulted by another man following an altercation. The victim sustained serious head injuries and was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
He is now described as being in a stable condition.
Officers arrested a man at the scene, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has been taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre where he will be questioned by officers.
A police cordon is currently in place while enquiries continue.
Officers are looking to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident, or may have been driving on the High Street at the time and has dash-cam footage.
