Man found unconscious in Bungay

Police are appealing for witnesses or information after a man was found with serious injuries in Bungay.

Officers were called at just before 11:30pm on Tuesday 9 April to reports that an unconscious man had been located on the roundabout at the junction of the A143 and Broad Street.

The victim, a man in his 50s, had sustained a serious head wound and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

After receiving medical treatment the man was later discharged.

It is reported that man was assaulted on a footbridge off the A143 at Ditchingham sometime between 9:30pm and 11:30pm earlier that evening.

Police are appealing for witnesses and asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage.
