Two people arrested by police in connection with a fatal crash in Ipswich last week have been released.

A 35 year old cyclist died at the scene on Vernon Street on Thursday after a collision involving three cars.

The pair - in their 20s and from the Shotley area - are out on bail until next month.

What happened?

The collision occurred shortly before 10pm and involved a bicycle and three cars - a blue Audi S3, a grey Volkswagen Golf and a Red Skoda Fabia.

The driver of the Audi fled the scene on foot.

On Thursday night, officers attended an address in the Shotley area and arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.

A second man - aged 25 and from the Shotley area - was also arrested on Thursday night, on suspicion of assisting an offender and obstructing a police officer.

They've both been released on bail until Wednesday 2 November, pending further enquiries.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage.
