Suffolk Constabulary have launched an appeal a potential witness to a robbery over the August bank holiday weekend.

The female driver of a Audi Q3 who assisted the man after his phone had been stolen has been asked to come forward.

She stopped to assist the man who also had suffered a head injury overnight between Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August and gave the person a lift home.

The man left Bar Twenty One in St Nicholas Street, Ipswich at around 9pm on Saturday 27 August. It is believed he then headed towards the Cattle Market to collect a taxi.

The man was later stopped by the female driver in Foxhall Road.

It is believed the person was struck on the head before the phone was stolen.
