Police appeal after serious sexual assault in Ipswich

Police are trying to trace a man after a serious sexual assault in Ipswich last night.

The victim, a girl in her late teens, was attacked as shed walked along a towpath towards Tower Mill Road at around 11:40pm last night (December 8).

She was approached from behind by an unknown man who pulled her to the ground.

Her attacker was disturbed by a member of the public and ran off in the direction of Sproughton Road.

The suspect is described as male, of medium build, wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a black coat and a face covering.

Detectives say they're following a 'number of lines of enquiry' in their investigation, but are appealing for CCTV footage or for any witnesses to come forward.
