A dog walker has been injured, along with his pet, after being attacked by a rottweiler while walking in Felixstowe.

It happened on Saturday (June 17) between 5pm and 5:20pm on the playing fields at the former Deben High School.

A man who was walking a Labrador was approached by the black rottweiler, who attacked his pet.

The dog owner was also injured as he tried to stop his pet being attacked.

The Labrador was left with cuts and puncture wounds and needed a trip to the vet.

The owner of the rottweiler collected his dog before walking away from the scene.

He is described as around 30-40 years of age, of a large, muscular build, with a beard.

He was wearing a white t-shirt, light-coloured shorts and baseball cap.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch.
