A forum, aimed at getting organisations that work with peoples mental health to come together, is launching in Suffolk.

It's being launched by Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) and they've been helped by one of the latest additions to the team.

Naomi Farrow is the trust's new Engagement Officer.

Naomi has lived experience of mental health issues and founded a charity called Get Me Out The Four Walls in 2015.

The idea behind the charity was to make sure no parent feels alone at home after the birth of their child.

She said “Having founded a charity myself, I can’t put into words how passionate I am about the VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) sector and its contribution to mainstream healthcare.

“Now that I wear a slightly different hat and am working for the NHS, I am even more keen to make sure that the voluntary sector has a place in both patients’ and carers’ care when it comes to adult mental health in Suffolk.”

She added: “The primary goal of this meeting is to ensure we deliver the best possible outcomes for our service users and carers through creating and building on the partnerships between NSFT and the VCSE sector.”

The first virtual meeting of the new Suffolk Adult (25+) Mental Health VCSE Forum will be held on Microsoft Teams on Wednesday, 7 October, between 11am and 1pm.

If you run a voluntary, community or social enterprise organisation which operates in adult mental health in Suffolk and would like to attend, you can register your interest by emailing: naomi.farrow@nsft.nhs.uk.
