Pilot in his 80's dies following light aircraft crash at Nayland Airfield

A man in his 80's has died after a light aircraft crashed at Naylands Airfield.

Suffolk Police were called at 11.30am yesterday morning (17 June) to the site just off Campions Hill.

Ambulance and fire crews were also in attendance, but the pilot was declared deceased at the scene.

Police officers have today (18 June) met with the Air Accidents Investigation Branch at the scene and a joint investigation will continue into the circumstances of the crash.

A file is also being prepared for the Coroner.
