An early assessment of the damage caused by Storm Babet in Suffolk last week has found that more than 200 properties were hit by flooding.
However, Suffolk County Council is warning the number could rise as the true extent of the damage is assessed.
Councils across Suffolk have been working with emergency planners to come up with a comprehensive list of properties in need of repair.
Councillor Matthew Hicks, Leader of Suffolk County Council, said:
"It is absolutely key that all residents who suffered flood damage report the incident."
"I understand that the pressures of finding somewhere to live or work, or stripping out damaged belongings may have dominated people’s lives since Friday, but I would urge them to take the time to fill in a flood report online.
"We know that this financial support is urgently needed, and we will do everything in our power to get it out to home and business owners as soon as possible."
Earlier this week the government confirmed there would be a package of support made available to locals affected by the weather.
So far, the help includes:
- ÂŁ500 grants for flooded households to help with immediate costs.
- Up to 100% off of both council tax or business rates for affected homes and companies for at least three months.
- Small and medium sized companies can apply for a grant of up the ÂŁ2,500 to get back on their feet.
- Flood hit property owners can apply for up to ÂŁ5,000 to help prevent future flooding.
The full details of the schemes, including how to apply, are yet to be announced.
