Missing man from Thurston pronounced dead after search

A man believed to be missing 62 year old Martin Carter was found unresponsive in woodland earlier this week

A man believed to be a missing 62 year old from Thurston has been pronounced dead after being found unresponsive by search teams.

Martin Canter was last seen at his home in the village at around 10pm on Wednesday (November 8).

Suffolk Police were involved in searches, along with members of Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue and the National Police Air Service.

A man was found in woodland between Thurston and Great Barton and was taken to hospital, where it was determined he had died.

Formal identification is yet to take place but Martin's family have been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
