Couple jailed for supplying drugs in Bury St Edmunds

A man and a woman from east London have been jailed after being convicted of supplying Class A drugs in Bury St Edmunds.
Jurgen Kapica and Vinjola Geca - who are both aged 23-years-old - appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on Friday 26 April, where there were sentenced to prison terms of three years and four months and two years and six months respectively.
Kapica and Geca, who are both of Snakes Lane East, Woodford Green, in the London Borough of Redbridge, had pleaded guilty at a previous hearing to the following two charges: being concerned in the supply of cocaine (between 3 July 2023 and 24 January 2024); and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.
The court heard that Kapica and Geca had both been operating for the ‘Sarah Albo’ County Line, which was suppling drugs into Suffolk from a base in the Woodford Green area of east London.
Detectives identified a phone number that was being used to offer Class A drugs for sale in Bury St Edmunds, following the arrest of four drug ‘runners’ between July 2023 and January of this year.
Working with officers from the Metropolitan Police as part of Operation Orochi, an address was identified as being linked to this number in Woodford Green and a warrant was executed there under the Misuse of Drugs Act on 25 January.
Kapica and Geca were both present at the address and were arrested. A number of mobile phones were seized, along with SIM cards, bags of cocaine and cash.
Analysis of the mobile phones and SIM cards seized during this raid proved they had been used to communicate with the mobile phones of the three previously arrested drug ‘runners’ in Bury St Edmunds, directing them where to deliver cocaine.
Kapica was found to have been linked to seven different mobile numbers and was in control of the ‘Sarah Albo’ line through a number of methods. Geca was his girlfriend and was found to have been working jointly with Kapica to run the drug line.
Police Staff Investigator Simon Bendall, of the Serious Crime Disruption Team, said: “Kapica and Geca worked together to control a significant Class A drugs operation which was responsible for bringing cocaine to be dealt on the streets of Bury St Edmunds.
“These County Lines are a blight on society and prey on vulnerable people to feed their addictions. We will continue to take robust action to dismantle them and bring the people higher-up the drugs supply chain to justice, making our communities safer for everyone.”
