A man has been jailed for 10 years after a stabbing in Felixstowe earlier this year.

44 year old Jamie Lepicq, of Hall Field, was convicted of wounding with intent to cause GBH at Ipswich Crown Court.

The attack happened on January 9 this year at a property on Princes Road.

Lepicq entered the property and went into a bedroom, where a man in his 40s was asleep along with a woman.

The woman was thrown to the flood while the man, who jumped out of bed to confront Lepiqc, was stabbed with a kitchen knife.

He was also hit in the face with a hammer, suffering several broken reeth.

Both the victim and Lepiqc were known to each other. He was arrested and charged the same day.

Lepiqc will serve five years on extended licence upon his release.

Detective Sergeant Jack Briggs, of Suffolk Police, said: “The sentence passed and the comments made by the Judge in court, against Lepicq take account of the danger that he poses to both the victim and the public.

"It highlights that knife crime is a matter that will be dealt with robustly by the court and has no place here in Suffolk.”
