Man in hospital after falling from A14 bridge into carriageway in Ipswich

The man was airlifted to Addenbrookes hospital with life-threatening injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses with a man sustaining serious injuries after falling from a bridge at the Copdock Interchange, Ipswich, onto the main A14 carriageway.

The incident happened at around 3:25pm yesterday (13 April).

The man was taken Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge by air ambulance, having sustained life-threatening injuries.

The A14 was closed in both directions with emergency services attending the scene of the incident.

The road for over two hours, with all restrictions lifted at around 5:50pm.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.
