Despite the efforts by paramedics, the driver of the Nissan Qashqai - a man aged in his 30s - was sadly pronounced deceased a short time later at the scene.

Three other people involved - the passenger of the Nissan Qashqai and the driver and passenger of the Ford S-Max - all sustained minor injuries.
