Man dies after falling from bridge in Haverhill

A man in his late 40s was pronounced dead after falling in the Hamlet Road area

A man has died after falling from a bridge in Haverhill last night,

The man, in his late 40s, suffered serious injuries at around 9:30pm last night in the Hamlet Road area.

He was later pronounced dead. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police spoke to the same man in the Ehringshausen Way area earlier that evening, as he was sat on a high wall.

He left the scene after speaking to officers.

Suffolk Constabulary has referred itself to the policing regulator over the incident.
