Man dies after collision on the A14 near Woolpit

The incident happened in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A 39-year-old man has died following a serious road traffic collision on the A14 westbound near Woolpit.

Police were called at just after 1.30am yesterday morning, to reports of a two-vehicle collision between Haughley and Woolpit, involving a white Audi A3 and a lorry parked in a layby.

The driver of the car was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where he later sadly died.

The A14 westbound was closed at the Beacon Hill junction with the A140 for several hours, reopening at around 9.30am.

Officers would like to hear from any witnesses. They are also asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage.
