It's after two teenagers were attacked while walking in the town
An Ipswich man has been found guilty of attempted rape and sexual assault, after attacking two teenagers as they walked through the town.
25 year old Adiley Pires, of Kensington Road, was found guilty of all charges at Ipswich Crown Court earlier this week following a 9 day trial.
He admitted a charge of assault by beating.
The first attack happened after 3am on October 17 2021, in the courtyard of the Foundry apartment building in College Street.
The victim, who was 18 at the time, was approached by Pires who touched her inappropriately.
When teenager told Pires to leave her alone he started to chase her, ultimately pushing her over and trying to lift her dress.
Pires was interupted by residents of the building and fled the scene.
The 18 year old had been on a night out at a nightclub in Cardinal Park, with CCTV footage from inside the club proving Pires had been watching her as she left the building, before following her to the Waterfront.
The second incident happened at around 11:40pm on December 8 last year.
A 17 year old girl who was walking on a river towpath near Tower Mill Road when she was grabbed by Pires, who covered her mouth and pulled at her clothing.
She managed to fight him off and call for help, with Pires again running from the scene.
Pires was quickly identified as a suspect and was arrested on December 15, before being charged.
He will face sentencing at Ipswich Crown Court on December 20.
