A man has been charged with drugs and driving offences after a police chase in the Newmarket area.

It's after a car failed to stop for police on the border between Suffolk and Cambridgeshire at around 9:20am on Monday morning, before leading officers on a pursuit along rural roads.

The vehicle was eventually brought to a stop, with police finding drugs and a blade.

Junik Ferizaj, 25, of no fixed abode, was subsequently charged with dangerous driving, possession of cannabis, possession of a knife, and using a motor vehicle without insurance.

He appeared before the Magistrates Court in Ipswich on Tuesday (August 22) and has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Ipswich Crown Court on September 19.
