Man charged in connection with £25k thefts in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex

Police say it's in connection to seven thefts from motor vehicles.

A man's been charged after £25,000 was stolen during seven thefts from motor vehicles in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.

On Wednesday 23rd June, police from the Serious Crime Disruption Team, arrested a man in Ipswich on suspicion of theft and he was taken in for questioning.

Wesley Maughan, who's 21 and from Southernhay in Basildon, was charged with conspiracy to commit theft that took place between 7th May 2020 and 25th February 2021.

The SCDT disrupt serious and organised gangs whose criminal activity focuses on issues such as drug supply and investigate serious and organised criminality.

The team develop relevant information and intelligence, conduct enforcement activity and then build the case to see the investigation through to conviction.
