A man from Ipswich has been charged with a total of 16 offences, some of which are in connection with a crash in the town at the weekend involving a Ferrari.

Police were called on Saturday morning to reports a red Ferrari had crashed with a parked car on Lindbergh Road.

Officers were there within minutes but found the driver of the Ferrari had run off.

A suspect was found and arrested around two hours later.

The Ferrari had been reported stolen to police around 20 minutes before the crash, from a property in Nacton.

It had been taken from a secure garage.

35 year-old Lee Nicholls from Hawke Road has been charged in connection with the crash and a number of other crimes.

He was remanded in custody after appearing at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
