A man has been charged and four others have been released on bail after a stabbing in Lowestoft on Saturday.

Police were called to St Peter's Street at around 11:35pm. The victim, a 21 year old man, had suffered a single stab wound.

He was initially taken to James Paget Hospital, but was then transferred to Addenbrooke's in Cambridge.

He remains in a critical but stable condition. Five men were arrested in the aftermath of the attack.

Four of them, all in their 20s, have been released on bail and will be questioned further in May.

22 year old Ryan Page, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts on wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public place.

He's due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court today.
