A Lowestoft man is starting prison sentence of over five years for drugs offences.

63 year old Garth Streete, of Hollingsworth Road, will spend five years and six months behind bars after admitting to being concerned in supply drugs and acquiring criminal property at Ipswich Crown Court on October 19.

He was arrested on June 21 this year after police seized a phone from a drug user, with text messages being traced back to Streete.

Phone data showed that between March 24 and April 6 this year 235 text messages had been sent to individuals known to be class A drug users in the town.

A search of Streete's home led to the discovery of cocaine, a set of scales, two mobile phones and £220 in cash.
