Lowestoft: Cyclist airlifted to hospital last night

Some roads in the town were closed as emergency services attended the incident

Suffolk's emergency services attended an incident involving a male cyclist last night in Lowestoft (22 October).

The cyclist was airlifted to hospital after being injured in the town - causing High Street and part of Yarmouth Road to be closed as rescuers attended the scene.

The incident is reported to have happened shortly after 8PM.

It's currently unknown what caused the incident, but Suffolk Police say it's thought the man may have fallen from his bike.

They also have revealed they don't believe he was involved in a collision - but had to be taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

He was flew to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge - and the roads were closed off for some time.
