Lorry driver who blocked A140 in Suffolk banned for drink driving

A lorry driver who crashed on the A140 in Suffolk has been banned for drink-driving.

Police were called at at 00.26am on Sunday 2 May to reports of a single vehicle crash near Mendlesham.

The HGV, which was traveling southbound, collided with a tree and blocked the carriageway.

Pavel Noga, who was driving the vehicle, blew 155 ugs at the roadside and was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where he then recorded a reading of 107 ugs and subsequently charged.

The 28-year-old, of Rainham in London, pleaded guilty to drink driving at Ipswich Magistrate's Court on 3 May.

He was disqualified from driving for 26 months and ordered to complete 160 hours of unpaid work, pay £100 in costs and a £95 victim charge.
