Kieran McKenna says Ipswich will 'feel better when we win' after Leicester draw
Town blew a lead for the fifth time in 10 matches over the weekend
Kieran McKenna say he's convinced Ipswich's elusive first Premier League win is still coming.
Town blew a lead for the fifth time in 10 matches, and have now dropped 12 points from winning positions, after Jordan Ayew's stoppage-time goal secured a 1-1 draw for Leicester on Saturday.
McKenna's side led through a stunning Leif Davis volley but a red card for Kalvin Phillips 13 minutes from time proved costly.
However, McKenna said: "It's 10 games. We've come through an awful lot of challenges with players missing out, players arriving late, so we knew we were going to be growing the team on the hop.
"Across the 10 games, we've been competitive in the large majority. And I look at some of the performances of players who have arrived who are starting to settle in now.
"I look at the performances of players who were with us in League One, and not always even starting in League One, and how those boys performed in a Premier League game, and how that's a big credit.
"I've said it before, we could have had a win - Southampton have got a win, but they've got fewer points than us.
"Of course, we'll feel better when we win a game but we need to just focus on the positives, keep learning our lessons and trust that results will be whatever they are at the end of the season."
Ayew is forging a reputation as a super-sub, having also climbed off the bench to score Leicester's last-gasp winner at Southampton last month.
"He won't want that to be his Leicester career," admitted boss Steve Cooper. "It's tough not starting him to be honest."
