Ipswich Town make double signing on transfer deadline day
There are two new faces at Portman Road - with one departure yesterday
Ipswich Town brought in fresh talent on transfer deadline day, with striker Gassan Ahadme joining from Burton Albion and Panutche CamarĂ¡ - a midfielder - moving from Plymouth Argyle.
'Pan' was born in Guinea-Bissau and played in Portugal before joining Barnsley. The 25 year old scored 10 times in 100 appearances for Plymouth.
He moves to Portman Road on a two year deal, with the option for a further 12 months.
21 year old Gassan has penned a three year deal at Town. He first played in England at Norwich in 2019, before joining to Burton in January.
He's scored 3 times in 14 League One appearances.
Speaking to the ITFC website, boss Kieran McKenna said: "They are two players who we’ve watched for quite a while and we have had them identified as players who could fit the profiles we’re looking for.
"Gassan is fit and available. He hasn’t trained yet, but he will train this morning and will be available for selection for the weekend.
"We wanted to bring in a forward who has height and physicality, as well as someone who is young and can still improve.
"We saw quite a bit of him last year. He is a really interesting profile of a forward, and he’s also had a really good pre-season and start to the season.
"We had a good look at him first-hand at Burton too, and he brought all of the things that we were seeing in the video footage.
"Pan has been a high performer in the league and really stood out when we were watching Plymouth before we played them last season. He didn't play in the game because of international duty, but he's very much been on our radar ever since.
"We felt like we needed that extra attacking midfield option who could fill some roles and give us the depth so we can hopefully be successful across the season.
Elsewhere, striker Tyreece Simpson has joined Huddersfield Town for an undisclosed fee.
