"It wasn't easy, but it was a good game": McKenna after Ipswich Town victory over MK Dons
Town secured three points in front of around 7,000 travelling fans
Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna has praised his players' discipline, after Blues managed to hold onto a 1 - nil lead to win at MK Dons.
Skipper Sam Morsy found the net in the 26th minute, with efforts later in the game from half-time sub Massimo Luongo, Nathan Broadhead and Wes Bruns.
Speaking to the ITFC website post-match, McKenna said: "The first half was quite even and MK Dons have some good players."
"They have technical and physical players, so it wasn't easy, but it was a good game.
"It was similar to last year in some ways where we couldn't quite get the press right in the first half but took control in the second half and really turned the screw.
"It was a big moment from Skip to open the scoring and we need that; we need players to step up. Sam's done that today.
"That was obviously the key goal and getting the opening goal away from home is always big for us.
"We were confident we could kick on in the second half and score more. On another day we'd have scored a lot more than we did.
"The support was fantastic as well. That was the case not only in the match, but from when we got off the coach. I'm glad we were able to get the win for the fans."
