Fire Service called to Felixstowe Port

The incident involved a 50m crane

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service have been dealing with an incident at Felixstowe Port this afternoon. (12/12)

Firefighters were called to the port at around 1pm today.

They confirmed a high voltage electrical fire had broken out in the motor room of a "ship to shore" crane.

8 fire fighters in breathing apparatus were in attendance and used hose jet reels, carbon dioxide extinguishers and an aerial ladder to access the fire.

They are currently still on the scene but have confirmed everything is under control.
