Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna says he is savouring a "special" first Premier League win in more than two decades.

Goals from Sammie Szmodics and Liam Delap helped the Tractor Boys to a 2-1 win at Tottenham.

Ipswich's win at the 11th attempt this season was their first in the top flight since April 2002.

Three points also saw them move up to 17th, and out of the relegation zone.

Speaking after the game, manager Kieran McKenna described the win as a "really significant moment and a day to cherish in the recent history of the football club."

"You look at the journey the club has been on in the last 22 years, the ups and downs, some heights but some of the depths as well... I think for the supporters to see their club win in the Premier League at a club like Tottenham, a fantastic club in a stadium like this against a team like that, is a massive day for them.

"For us who have been involved in the journey for the last couple of years, it's a really significant day as well."

Ed Sheeran 'brought a bit of luck' to the Tractor Boys

Framlingham singer and lifelong Ipswich supporter Ed Sheeran was watching the game from the stands.

Sheeran, who's also a shareholder at the club, designed the pink third kit worn by the Tractor Boys' players on Sunday.

Ipswich boss McKenna revealed Sheeran visited the dressing room after the game.

"He popped in and it was nice to see him. He congratulated the boys and we had his designed kit on, so maybe it brought us a bit of luck!

"And everyone knows he's been an important part of the club in the last few years with the support he gives us, so nice for him to be here."

Ipswich Town are next in action following the international break, when they welcome Manchester United to Portman Road on Sunday 24 November.
