Ipswich Town captain Samy Morsy charged with 'violent conduct' by FA
It comes after an incident on the pitch during Town's 2-1 win over Accrington Stanley
Ipswich Town captain Samy Morsy has until later today to respond to allegations of violent conduct during last Saturday's match against Accrington Stanley.
He's been charged by the FA after clashing with Stanley's Ethan Hamilton. Town won the fixture 2 - 1.
In a statement, the FA said: "Ipswich Town FC’s Sam Morsy has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E1.1 following their EFL League One match against Accrington Stanley FC on Saturday 22/01/22.
"The midfielder’s behaviour during the 27th minute was not seen by the match officials, but it was caught on camera, and allegedly constitutes violent conduct."
It's understood Ipswich are set to appeal the charge.
