Ipswich settle for goalless draw against Stoke
The Tractor Boys, who currently sit second in the Championship, have only scored once in their past four games
Ipswich's winless run's continuing into the new year, after a 0-0 draw against Stoke.
The Blues dominated the second half at the bet365 Stadium, with the hosts reduced to 10 men after Jordan Thompson was shown a second yellow card, but were unable to find a way through.
There were seven changes to the side which drew 0-0 with QPR on Friday evening, with captain Sam Morsy one of those returning after serving a one-game ban.
Harry Clarke, Axel Tuanzebe, George Edmundson, Wes Burns, Nathan Broadhead and Kayden Jackson all came into the starting XI.
The Tractor Boys, who currently sit second in the Championship, have only scored once in their past four games.
Manager Kieran McKenna says he was disappointed not to come away from Stoke with three points: "Of course, we would have liked to have got the win, but I saw a lot of good things in the performance,” he told TownTV.
“It was a difficult game, with the schedule and the (injury) situation not making things any easier, but I saw a lot of good things. They had momentum in the early stages, but after that we took control of the game and stayed brave, getting into some really good situations where we were half a yard away from getting the first goal and opening the game up for us.
“I thought we came out very well in the second half but weren’t able to do enough when they went down to 10 men.
"In some ways it’s an advantage, of course it is, but it galvanised them in some ways to defend their box in numbers. We weren’t able to do enough at the end of the game, which is of course frustrating, but I saw lots of good things in the team as a collective and some individuals."
