Three arrested after stabbing in Ipswich

Three people have been arrested after an incident in which a man was stabbed in the leg in Ipswich.

Officers were called just before midnight on Saturday 21 September, following reports that a teenager had been stabbed in St Stephen’s Lane.

The attack is believed to have taken place after an altercation involving a group of males, at least one of whom is believed to have been carrying a knife.

The victim, a man aged in his late teens, sustained a leg injury. He was taken to hospital by ambulance and received treatment. His condition is not believed to be life changing or life threatening.

A 20-year-old man, 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, were arrested on suspicion of assault (grievous bodily harm) on 25 September and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. While in custody, the 19-year-old man was additionally arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B or C drugs.

All three were bailed with conditions to return to police on 25 November.

Police are now appealing for witnesses, or anyone with further information to come forward.
