Ipswich Town captain Sam Morsy will miss the clash against QPR on Friday 29th December, after being handed a one-match ban and £5,000 fine by the FA.

An FA spokesperson said the midfielder was "in breach of FA Rule E3.1 following Ipswich Town FC's EFL Championship fixture against Middlesbrough on December 9th 2023."

The FA added: "Morsy admitted that he acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive words and/or behaviour towards a match official in or around the changing rooms".

In a statement of their own, Ipswich Town Football Club said "Sam accepts the charge, and both the club and midfielder will make no further comment."
